Women’s Health And Action Research Centre (WHARC) paid Advocacy Visit to The Edo State Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues MSD&GI on Tuesday 28th June, 2022. The purpose of the visit was to seek the Ministry’s support and collaboration for WHARC’s Mandate, Programmes and Activities on Gender Based Violence (GBV) and other negative and harmful practices that affect the health and well-being of women.
The Permanent Secretary represented by Mrs. J. I. Ihienseken appreciated WHARC for the activities and Programmes geared towards ensuring the social well-being and development of Women and, expressed the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with WHARC in driving the mandate which the core of their mandate.
In attendance were other Directors, and Media and Publicity Officers of the Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues. The WHARC team was led by the Executive Director – Dr. Wilson Imongan, The Programme Officer – Ms Henrietta Efe, The Senior Managing Editor (African Journal of Reproductive Health) – Mr. Karl Eimuhi and Ms Epiphany Diakpomrere – Communication Officer.
