In this project, Focus group discussion (FGD) which is a qualitative research method was used to Access the level of awareness of GBV among people in project communities, Understand the level of women participation in community matters, promote awareness of the Violence Against Person’s (VAP) law and Advocate for community support in addressing GBV matters.  The FGD was carried out in 4 categories in all LGA’s, they include: older men, older women, younger men and younger women of reproductive ages, with members of Igue-Iheya community in Ovia North East LGA, Irrua in Esan Central and Okpekpe in Etsako East LGA, (as well as community conversations with the Community Leaders and Members of the community). The discussions were done separately so as to give autonomy to each group, only the community conversation was done together). Each session of discussion was recorded which was sent for transcription. The open data kit (ODK) tool would be used to transcribe.  Each FGD yielded positive results as the participants were open and truthful.
