Mrs. Pat Okonofua

Deputy Executive Director

Mrs. Pat Okonofua (Female). She is Deputy Executive Director at the Women's Health and Action Research Centre (WHARC). She is also the Head of Administration and Human Resource Department of the Centre. She supervises all administrative responsibilities in WHARC. Mrs. Pat Okonofua is the General Manager of the Academy Guest House and Events Centre, and the Next Premium Water Factory, and she oversees the smooth and daily operations of these establishments. She has Bachelor of Arts degree in French from the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, and possesses a Diploma in Data Processing. She is one of the founding officials of WHARC since the founding of the Centre in 1994, rising from the post of Secretary of the organization, senior administrative officer, Assistant Executive Director, and now Deputy Executive Director. She is married with children and hails from Edo State. She is prolific in the areas of Hospitality and Events planning. She is goal-oriented and has good organizational skills. She has great computer skills including the use of Microsoft, Excel, power point and graphics. She also has considerable experiences in community work and social advocacy, especially in community advocacy activities relating to the empowerment of women. She was one of those that mobilized community support for the advocacy activities led by WHARC that resulted in the passage of first Bill in Nigeria against the practice of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Edo State in 2003.
