Dr. Lorretta F.C. Ntoimo

Lorretta Favour Chizomam Ntoimo is an associate professor of social demographer with over 12 years of experience in teaching, research and community service. She is affiliated with the Department of Demography and Social Statistics at Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria. Dr. Ntoimo earned her doctoral degree in 2012 from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Nigeria, marking the commencement of her scholarly journey. In 2014, she was appointed as a postdoctoral fellow at the Demography and Population Studies Programme, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, through the prestigious Fogarty International Centre/University Research Centre fellowship programme.   She became an associate member of Women’s Health and Action Research Centre in 2016, actively contributing to the centre’s research initiatives, data analysis, and scholarly publications. Dr. Ntoimo also serves as a visiting lecturer at the World Bank-established Centre of Excellence in Reproductive Health Innovation (CERHI) and the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Procurement, Environmental, and Social Standards Enhancement at the University of Benin, Nigeria.   Dr Ntoimo is a highly motivated and result-oriented researcher whose goal is to contribute to reproductive health, family demography, and population health in Africa. She has participated in various capacities as a team leader, collaborator, field supervisor, and project coordinator in many funded research projects. She has published over 90 articles, book chapters and one co-edited book.  Dr Ntoimo is a member of various editorial boards for international and local journals, including the African Journal of Reproductive Health (Social Science editor), Sage Open, Heliyon (Women’s Health), International Journal of Population Studies, and three national journals. Dr Ntoimo is also a member of many professional bodies such as the international union for the scientific study of population, and population association of Nigeria among others.
