
Dorothy Ngozi Ononokpono

Dorothy Ngozi Ononokpono holds a PhD in Demography and Population Studies from the
University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. She is a senior lecturer in
the department of Sociology and Anthropology, University of Uyo, Nigeria. Her research
interest spans maternal and reproductive health. She has both quantitative and qualitative
analytical skills and have authored and co-authored a number of peer reviewed journal
articles on maternal and child health, gender based violence and HIV/AIDS. She has
presented scientific papers at several international conferences (PAA, IUSSP, UAPS). She
reviews scientific papers for international peer reviewed Journals. Dorothy is an external
examiner for Demography and Population studies programme, University of the
Witwatersrand, South Africa, Makerere University Uganda; and currently the secretary of
the Faculty of Social Sciences research committee and Post Graduate Co-ordinator,
Department of Sociology and Anthropology University of Uyo.
